INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Denver men’s soccer team received a national seed for the third time in the last four years, as the 15-seeded Pioneers will bypass the first round to host the winner of Air Force and Central Arkansas in the NCAA Second Round on Sunday at 3 p.m. MT. The full field of 48 was released this morning during the 2018 NCAA Men’s Soccer Selection Show, which the Pioneers took in at the Pioneer Bar.

Tickets for the 2018 NCAA Tournament Second Round at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium will go on sale Tuesday at 9 a.m. MT on DenverPioneers.com.

Denver is 15-3-2 following its fifth Summit League Tournament title on Saturday evening at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium.

The Crimson and Gold are 4-6-1 all-time in NCAA Tournament play entering their eighth appearance in the competition later this week. Denver earned its first Division I NCAA Tournament win in 2016 since returning to the NCAAs top division in 1998, making a run all the way to the program’s first College Cup. The sixth-seeded Pioneers that season earned home wins over UNLV and No. 11 Washington before going on the road to win late in regulation at No. 3 Clemson.

DU also made tournament appearances in 1970 (Quarterfinals), 2008, 2010, 2013, 2014 and 2015 (Second Round). The Pioneers were the 13 seed in 2015 before earning the six seed in 2016.
