Denver Hosts No. 1 Minnesota-Duluth this Weekend in First No. 1 vs. No. 2 Clash at Magness Arena Since 2002
DENVER – The DU Pioneers once again came in at No. 2 on the USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine NCAA Div. I Hockey polls this week, both of which were announced earlier this week. Denver was also ranked No. 2 on this week’s edition of ESPN broadcaster John Buccigross’ #cawlidgehawkey poll.
Minnesota-Duluth was ranked No. 1 on all three polls. The Bulldogs visit Magness Arena this coming weekend for a two-game series (Friday – 7pm & Saturday – 7pm, click HERE for tickets). This is the first No. 1 vs. No. 2 series at Magness Arena since February of 2002 (No. 1 DU vs. No. 2 SCSU, split). Both of this weekend’s games will be broadcast by 104.3 FM The Fan while Friday’s game will be televised by the American Sports Network.
Denver extended its unbeaten streak to 14 games (11-0-3) this past weekend, earning a pair of 3-1 victories over Colorado College in a home-and-home series versus the Tigers to retain the Gold Pan Trophy for the third year in a row.
